I Cheated...

I cheated... but just a little!!

There have been some AMAZING ideas posted already, and while I had grand plans to post up a fun paper Christmas Tree project, there have not been enough hours in my day.  Eh, you can't win them all... so I've contributed to the link up with my ornament garland from last year that has held up SO WELL.


Last year it stood alone in the hallway, but this year, it's a part of the winter wonderland I posted about last week!

Go take a look at some of the amazing ideas and projects!!  Some of them totally doable, and some I know are outside of my talent level...

This super charming Swedish Felt Christmas Tree from Southern Distinctions....

I'm obsessed with Sarah's blog, so it's no surprise that I loved her feather garland... I just love how it catches the light and sort of glows...

And this felt wreath from Life on Virginia Street is so festive, and relatively simple to make!

If I had a mantle, you can bet your buttons that I'd be whipping up a few of these trees from Little Bits of Home!  I love the tinsel one along with the one with the pompoms.  So clever!!

DIY Art: Inverted Arrows

Hey guys!  Hope you're having an awesome week, and for those in the Bay Area, are you all loving this cold weather that came in as much as I am??  Cozy sweaters at last! Last week, I'd posted about a DIY art project , and I wanted to continue talking about this topic today.  As I'd mentioned, buying art can be expensive, but making your own art can be really cost effective, fun, and dare I say it... easy.    No more blank boring walls people - here's another simple DIY art project to try out... Source I saw this vignette, and almost died.  That chair (from West Elm)... love it.  The mid-century dresser... so pretty.  And that painting??  The inverted arrows???  A blown up, modern take on my favorite chevron print?????  I'm all over it! Inspiration to Reality: Classic, White Living Space

I haven't done a design board in a while and it's time to get those creative juices flowing again! This living room (from Houzz) is pretty much the stuff my dreams are made of... Traditional Living Room by Barrie Interior Designers & Decorators Staples Design Group Open concept.  Neutral Furniture. Classic details. Contemporary lighting and accessories. Worn natural woods.  It's love. I put together an inspiration board to get the look (for likely A LOT less than this room cost)... take a peek: That sofa is actually one of the ones we'd been considering from Pottery Barn - the Carlisle Couch with it's deep feather stuffed  seat cushions and pretty turned legs.  It's not cheap, but it's the core of the room! To balance out the cost of the sofa, everything else is a bargain find - that rug from RugsUSA is just $1000 right now (with the 60% off discount) for an 8x10' - great price. Dining Room Updates

Hola friends!!  More updates on the apartment! Things are getting done around here - art hung, walls painted, and now we're slowing down because it feels like we live here for real, instead of that "just-moved-in can't-find-the-cheese-grater" temporary feeling.  Do you know what I'm talking about?  To put it simply, we're feeling completely settled now, so I thought I'd share a few pictures of the dining room. You've already seen a few snapshots from this post when I hung the shelves up, and this post where I put up pictures of the linen curtains in here, but here's the room in it's fairly "finished" state. The rug in here is new for this apartment - I'd blogged about it here - and when it first came, I was not 100% sure about how I felt.  Looking at these pictures, I'm still not fully sure it's love, but I like it.  I like the colors, and how it feels really tied in with the rest of the house, and it's got a nubby, ea...
